We stayed at de Belezy for the first time this year and had a wonderful holiday. The weather during the last two weeks of September was very good. Blue sky's on all but one day and the temperatures were about 27-28C during the first week and a little less the second.

The campsite is easy to find and is located a few minutes outside of the village of Bedoin. It is well signposted in the village itself and can be walked there from the campsite in about ten minutes. The market on Monday's is one of the best we have visited in France and is definitely a must for anyone staying nearby.

The staff at the reception desk seemed very well organised, they were expecting us and for those who don't speak French they need not worry, as their English was excellent. We stayed in one of the new Eden bungalows. Two bedrooms, a separate living area and large deck outside. The bungalow was very well equipped and even included a CD player, Sat TV and microwave oven.

The campsite is divided in two with the campsite road running between the caravan and camping area and the rest. The road itself is well screened and to actually get in there is a swipe card system witched worked well. There is a small paddling pool for infants and two swimming pools, one of which is 800M2 and must be one of the biggest pools we have seen on a campsite or hotel complex.

The old Mas is the focus of the campsite and during the day seemed to play host to many groups of eager Petanque players, sometimes from dawn to dusk! There is a small campsite shop but during our stay it was open for only a few hours in the morning. Those wanting croissants for breakfast should rise early and run…

Bedoin is well located and is about 15 minutes from Carpentras. There is a supermarket in Bedoin but the one in Carpentras is much better. We were able to visit most places by driving for not much more than an hour. The places we found to be on our ‘A' list included: Vaison-la-Romaine for the market and old town, we bought several wonderful paintings and photographs; Orange for the Roman theatre; Avignon – simply wonderful and probably worth several visits; we visited the Luberon villages of Menerbes and Bonnieux on one day and Gordes and Roussillon on another. There is a wonderful natural gorge in Roussillon and the colours of the natural ochre rock were quite beautiful, definitely worth a visit. We drove up Mont Ventoux one afternoon and the drive was quite exhilarating, at 1909m/6263ft the views were fantastic but take a fleece as the temperatures fall off as you climb.

We used Easyjet to fly to Nice. The car hire staff again spoke English and the drive to de Belezy took three hours, which was fine as most of the journey was on the motorway. If you are flying to Nice make time for the city itself the waterfront is amazing, and now I truly understand why the French Riveria has always been so popular. We will be going back for a long weekend…

Overall, we recommend de Belezy, great campsite, wonderful guests (mostly French, Dutch and German), friendly staff and an excellent restaurant and bar. Earlier in the year there is much to do (search the Google website http://www.google.com/ for de Belezy).
